BUFFALO SOLDIER FILE

DaMarcus Beasley, or as we call him here at Golnoir, Run DMB, lived up to being named one of the most promising future stars with a strong showing at the 2002 World Cup, running circles around Portuguese defenders and demonstrating skill on the ball and tireless defensive work.

DaMarcus first made waves in HS being named national co-Player of the Year for 1999 then went to train with the United States' under 17 squad where he quickly became a standout dropping both goals and assists in tournaments such as the CONCACAF qualifying tournament for the U-17 World Championships. It was his play at the U-17 World Championships where he came into international consciousness, receiving the Silver Ball as the second best player of the tournament behind teammate Landon Donavan, as the US finished 4th. He finished his U-17 career with 16 goals and 14 assists in 44 appearances.

To say only that DaMarcus has speed and quickness is to short change him. His vision and passing ability, especially in tight spaces is incredible for someone so young and his play in Japan and Korea helped him garner attention from top European clubs. The sky's the limit for this young Soccer Buffalo Soldier and the US will benefit because of his ability and work ethic.
