COLORADO RAPIDS
music: Erykah Badu-Back in the Day

Few teams have defind mediocrity like the Colorado Rapids.

With one appearance in MLS Cup (1997) the only consistent tendency they have shown is playing average soccer and still getting to the playoffs. While Marcelo Balboa was the biggest name throughout the early seasons, they have featured solid players like Andres Limpiar and Ross Paule.

As they move to a new stadium, they'll need the likes of Kyle Beckerman and Pablo Mastroeni to lead them. Zach Thornton arrives in Denver to provide experience in goal and Mike Petke is a long time MLS performer who will be counted on to provide stability in the back.

Like the motion of water, smooth!

Wolde Harris was instant offense off the bench in that great '97 post season run. Junior Agogo was very solid before his trade to San Jose in June of 2001. Jeff Cunnigham had a solid one season Denver partnering "Pedro" Peguero up top. Zach Thornton and Ugo Ihemelu are newcomers to Denver in 2007 as is Panamanian forward Roberto Brown.
Bottom Line: Colorado has been to the mountain top but to get to the promised land, they have to fight their way through a very tough Western schedule.
