DENÍLSON

One of the great dribblers in the game, Denílson is a potential human highlight film every time he touches the ball. American fans will learn to appreciate his technique after he signed with FC Dallas during the 2007 season.

Denílson started his career at São Paulo FC, with whom he won the Copa Libertadores and the Intercontinental Cup in successive years. This led to international appearances and in 1997 Denílson helped win the 1997 Copa America & Confederations Cup in 1997 and was named most valuable player.

One year later the midfielder was signed by Real Betis as the most expensive football player in the world but could never live up the hype that was bestowed upon him. Betis did not escape relegation and Denílson was loaned to Flamengo, returning a year later.

There are those who say Denilson has not fulfilled his talent as a player but the guy's dribbling skills are worth the price of admission and more importantly, he's got a World Cup medal.

He'll hope to use that experience to help FC Dallas while he's there.
