COLUMBUS CREW
music: Ohio Players-Love Rollercoaster

Fianlly.

One of the original MLS franchises finally rewarded the patience of its passionate fan base by capturing the 2008 MLS Cup.

US National Team forward Brian McBride had been the corner piece of the team that calls itself "the Hardest Working Team in MLS" but was unable to lead them to a title

Guillermo Barros Schelotto has become a legend in Columbus after delivering a title to a team that also relied upon players like Eddie Gaven, Alejandro Moreno, Chad Marshall & veteran Frankie Hejduk to forge a new era in Columbus.

Columbus recieves unbelievable fan support considering that this town is owned by Ohio State Football and it was only a matter of time before they added the MLS Cup to the 2002 US Open Cup brought to one of MLS' best facilities, Columbus Crew stadium.

OHIO PLAYAS

While Brian McBride got most of the headlines, Black players have made MAD contributions to this team. Players like Dante Washington and Trinidadian Stern John have led the team in goals. Departed Andy Williams contributed solid play before feeling left out and moving to the Miami Fusion. Robin Fraser, retired from Columbus as quite possibly, the best defender in MLS history.
Bottom line:
Don't sleep on this Crew. They are waiting to solidify its MLS supremacy.
