MEXICO

I know. Black soccer. Mexico. Seemingly doesn't fit. However, Blacks have played in the Mexican First Division and quite frankly, they are the most respected team in CONCACAF.

Mexico has had representation in 12 World Cups and are the class of the CONCACAF region. Only in the last decade have other countries begun to challenge Mexico's superiority in the region, primarily the United States. Nevertheless, it is the Mexico that has won the most Gold Cups, fared quite well when invited to the Copa America, the South American championships and has shown quite well in the World Cup.

The greatst Mexican player of all time is Hugo Sanchez, a wonderfully gifted striker who played a season in MLS. Today the most recognizable player is striker Cuauhtemoc Blanco. Luis Hernandez & goal keeping legend Jorge Campos still remain among the most popular. Other top players include Pavel Pardo in defense, Jesus Arrelano in the midfield, Jared Borgetti, another striker and their National Stadium, Estado Azteca, where they have lost one qualifier since, like, the Ford administration.

BLACKS IN MEXICAN FOOTBALL

There are several Blacks that have played in the Mexican First Division Hernan Medford of Costa Rica and Augustin Delgado made big time contributions to their clubs in Mexico. Eduardo Isella & Melvin Brown both have played for Mexico's most supported club, Chivas of Guadalajera & the National Team

Bottom line:
Other sides are gaining on the "Tri-Color" recently but Mexico remains the standard the rest of CONCACAF attempts to match.
