ARGENTINE FIRST DIVISION NEWS

BUENOS AIRES, May 27 (Reuters/Yahoo) - Argentine championship leaders San Lorenzo beat Racing Club 3-0 on Sunday while Boca Juniors kept up the chase with a 3-1 win over Gimnasia-Jujuy.

San Lorenzo, who have won 12 out of 16 games, lead the race for the Clausura title with 38 points, three ahead of Boca. Both teams have three matches to play.

Gaston Fernandez turned in Ezequiel Lavezzi's cross to put San Lorenzo ahead after eight minutes and defender Cristian Tula headed the second from a corner eight minutes before halftime.

Midfielder Santiago Hirsig completed the scoring midway through the second half.

The defeat left Racing third from bottom with 14 points and their frustration boiled over as Franco Sosa and Maximiliano Moralez were sent off in the final 15 minutes.

Boca forward Rodrigo Palacio, midfielder Sebastian Battaglia and left back Clemente Rodriguez scored in the second half as they overcame Gimnasia, who replied with a late goal from Fernando Soler.
