SAMUEL KUFFOR AS LIVORNO (AS ROMA)
After several years in Germany's Bundeliga with Bayern Munich, Sammuel Kuffour moved to Serie A in the summer of 2005 with AS Roma and is now being loaned to AS Livorno for the 06-07 season.
Will anyone forget the sight of a crest fallen Samuel Kuffor, crying his eyes out, pounding the ground of Barcelona's Nou Camp stadium after Ole Gunnar Solsker got away from him to score the Champions League winning goal for Manchester United in 1999?
Well the Ghanian International has been able to chase those demons away with a European Championship of his own and the game winning goal in the 2001 Toyota Cup.
A passionate hard working rock in the middle of Bayern’s defense, Samuel has transformed himself from an error prone youngster when he started with the club in 1995 to a hard nosed dependable central defender. He had been wooed by other clubs but always resisted until he fell out of favor with new coach Felix Magath.
After a costly error aginst Italy in the World Cup, he's probably done representing Ghana, Kuffor wants to taste more domestic glory, this time in a new country.
After several years in Germany, Samuel Kuffor now sports the colors of AS Roma in Itlay Reuters
