After a lengthy and largely successful spell in Italy as a member of Juventus' midfield, a brief stop in Barcelona & forgettable spell at Inter Milan and Tottenham, Edgar Davids has returned home to the club where he made his name, Ajax.

Davids was most likely the most recognizable Black player in Italy as well a tenacious central midfielder. The Pitbull, as he is known, has been known to score big goals when needed.

Born in Surinam, he came to Holland as a kid and started his career as part of the Ajax Machine garnering title after title, including a European Cup before moving to AC Milan for a disappointing 2 year spell.

He found his game again, after moving to Juventus of Turin where he established himself as one of the world’s most recognizable players, both with his play in Italy and for Holland's National Team.

He recovered from the sting of his 6 month ban for allegedly using banned substances and a bout with glaucoma (hence the goggles) to weather countless transfer rumors. However he found himself at odds with the Juventus coaching staff and out of the starting lineup more often than not.

A move to Barcelona where so many Dutch players have had sucessful spells helped rekindle the fire for Edgar Davids but the momentum stopped upon his return to Italy and was nowhere to be found in England/

Now he returns home to finish out his career.
