PATRICK VIEIRA

A veritable giant of the game, the Dakar, Sengal native is captain of the French team and one of the great central midfielders in the world.

A regular on the French National Team since a 1997 friendly against the Netherlands, he helped Deschamps control the midfield for France during the 98 World Cup and then took over for him after Deschamps retired. The form he has shown for Arsenal over the past few years have only increased his worth as shown during the Euro2000 and 2001 Confederations Cup.

His speed, strength and passing have made him an indispensible part of the French midfield. Desired by clubs all over Europe, Patrick Vieira is one of the world’s great players.
