DJIBRIL CISSE LIVERPOOL/MARSEILLE
Djibril Cisse, the young star now with Liverpool, came into international consciousness with his outstanding display for France at the U-20 World Cup in Argentina in 2001 where he scored seemingly at will and finished as statistical champion.
The following season was a break out season for him at Auxerre where he led the French First Division with 22 goals and had a host of top flight European teams, such as England’s Liverpool, salivating at the thought of securing his services. However, Djibril remained in France until the summer of 2001 when he moved to Liverpool.
His form during the 2001-02 led to his inclusion in the 23man squad representing France at the 2002 World Cup and will figure in France's bid to qualify for Germany 2006.
