LILIAN THURAM
FC BARCELONA

Following the relegation of Italian power Juventus due to the match-fixing scandal of 2006, The Guadeloupe born former French International Lilian Thuram signed with FC Barelona.

He started off his career at Monaco in the French League before moving to Parma and being recognized as one of the world’s great central defenders, cementing that claim during the 1998 World Cup where he will be remembered, ironically, for the 2 goals he scored against Croatia in the semifinals.

He then moved to Juventus in search of an elusive Serie A championship before the 2001-02 season.

A large imposing presence on the backline, Lilian Thuram continued cementing his reputation as one of Serie A's great defenders. His form for France at the 2006 World Cup showed that he still had the talent and class to compete with the world's best. With his international career now behind him, looks to concentrate all his energies on helping FC Barcelona maintain its resurgence.
