After what may have been the longest, most drawn out protacted transfer in the history of the sport, Robinho has finally moved to Real Madrid from Santos.

Robinho signed his first contract for an indoor side, Beira Mar, and soon became a legend with his unreal skills on the ball as he made his way through the junior ranks. He moved once again to Portuários in Santos, another indoor side and decided to make soccer his life's work to help his family out their poor existence.

Soon Santos, the side that Pele made famous came calling and he signed with their indoor side, impressing again, before making the switch to the outdoor game.

By 2002 he was a full-fledged professional, lighting up the Brazillian league with his repetoire of moves, helping put Santos back on the map and drawing comparisons to the King, Pele. It culminated with a highlight that was shown the world over where he stepped over the ball about 8 times before drawing a penalty against a hapless Corinthians defender.

Robinho began making apperances for Brazil to add to his professinal experience but suffered the unthinkable drama of having his mother kidnapped for over a month. This fueled his desire of wanting to leave Brazil so that his family would not be targets and began his courtship with Real Madrid. After a legal dramas worthy of its own telenovela, Robinho has finally gotten his dream move to arguably the world's biggest club.

This young player has the makings of being one the all time great players and many are anxious to see how his European sojourn turns out.
