FREDDY KANOUTE
SEVILLA

Freddy Kanoute moved to La Liga side Sevilla before the start of the 2005-06 to help offset the loss of Julio Baptista to Real Madrid and has been a intregal part of their lineup

Born & raised in France, Freddy took advantage of his experience with English side Tottenham Hotspurs, new international regulations and his father's Malian heritage to star at the W. African Nation at the 2004 African Cup of Nations, helping Mali to a semi-final finish.

Kanoute started his career in France with Olympique Lyon and early returns saw a bright future for the youngster injuries stalled his career and a chance to represent France. A move to England's W. Ham saw him regain his stride but he was unable to keep the Hammers from relegation and signed with Spurs.

The N. London side has revitalized his career and his exploits led to the Malian Football Federation asking him to joing their side for the 2004 ACN. Spurs management begged their leading scorer to stay but he took advantage of the opporutunity for international football and has no regrets.
