SHABANI NONDA BLACKBURN
From Burundi and representing the Democratic Republic of the Congo, internationally comes this budding star who has had an impressive start to his career.
Shabani started his European sojourn with French side Rennes in 1998 and after a year of acclimation, started lighting up the nets. He scored 16 goals in his second season and attracted interest all over Europe including teams in Italy's Serie A.
It was Monaco who signed Shabani and were been happy with the returns. The following season saw the now DR-Congo international find the net during Champions League play and reach double digit goals, something he continues to accomplish.
This led to a move to AS Roma but he failed to settle and is now in England with Blackburn.
The future is bright for this young striker, both in Europe and back home with the DR Congo if he can avoid injury.
