A skilled attacking midfielder who amazingly, was a starter for Jamaican Premiere League Side Harbor view at 14 Ricardo Gardner is fixture on the left side, either as a midfielder or as a defender.

After impressing consistently with Harbor View he became a top choice player for the Reggae Boyz of Jamaica was very influential in helping Jamaica qualify for the 1998 World Cup in France where he assisted on Jamaica’s first ever goal against Croatia.

His form for Jamaica netted him a contract with Bolton Wanderers FC, making him the first native Jamaican to sign professionally in England. He showed he was worth the investment demonstrating great skill and intensity in helping Bolton gain promotion to the Premiereship.

Ricardo suffered a serious knee injury that set him back but he recovered fully and was again, one of the standout players for Jamaica in their failed bid to qualify for the 2002 World Cup.

With his attacking instincts and skill on the ball, Ricardo Gardner should be a familiar sight around English football and the Jamaican National Team for some time to come.
