ASHLEY COLE
CHELSEA

Ashley Cole looks to turn a new page in his career after completing a long sought move to Chelsea where he hopes to overcome injuries and reclaim his left back spot for England The young left winger came up through the Arsenal youth system and earned a place in the first 11 during the 2000-01 season after proving a more than adequate replacement for injured left back Silvinho. Not bad for a converted striker, he continues to improve his defending His adventurous runs up the left side made him a fan favorite at Highbury and the clamor began for him to be introduced to the England back line.

After 4 apperances with the U-21s, Ashley got his first taste of Senior International Football during England’s 3-1 WCQ win over Albania.

Represented fairly well in England's run to the 2002 World Cup quarterfinals but impressed mightily at the Euro2004 tournament and remains an attacking option out of the back for the Three Lions and an upgrade for a Chelsea side looking to win the Champions League.
