Togo FA drama continues as CAF steps in

Caf has summoned the rival factions claiming the right to the presidency of the Togo Football Federation (TFT) to meeting in Cairo this week.

The position became vacant two weeks ago after president Adaglo Tata Avlessi was banned for eight years for alleged bribery.

Gabriel Ameyi, vice-president of the TFT, declared himself the legitimate heir to the deposed president but his claim has been vigorously contested by Teyi Lawson-Gallus.

Gallus was elected by a rival group to lead the TFT on the grounds that he is the eldest of the executive committee.

Sports Minister Gilbert Atsou set up a committee on Friday to help find an amicable solution to the crisis. Complete Story, BBC
