ABIDJAN, June 22 (Reuters/Yahoo) - The Ivory Coast returned to winning ways in their World Cup qualifiers on Sunday, hammering Botswana 4-0 to rise to the top of the African qualifying zone Group Seven standings.

Bundesliga-based striker Boubacar Sanogo opened the scoring in the 16th minute and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Didier Zokora doubled the lead just five minutes later.

Sekou Cisse added the third just after half-time and added a further goal in the 70th minute before being replaced by Chelsea forward Salomon Kalou.

The Ivorians, who drew their last two group matches, top the standings with eight points, three ahead of Botswana and four above Mozambique who were 3-0 winners over Madagascar in Maputo earlier on Sunday.
