ABIDJAN, Sept 21 (Reuters/Yahoo) - ASEC Abidjan secured a seventh successive league title in the Ivory Coast on Thursday, winning 1-0 against Ecole Formation Yeo Martial to move out of the reach of their closest challengers.

ASEC, coached by Frenchman Patrick Liewig, made sure of the title with two games to spare.

A 22nd-minute goal from Didier Ya Konan ensured the win for the hosts, who need only a draw to clinch the title. They are nine points clear of second-placed Sewe Sport.

ASEC now turn their focus to the African Champions League where they meet holders Al Ahli of Egypt in the first leg of their semi-final next weekend.
